Dear comrades, people of South Sudan and well wishers. What do - TopicsExpress

Dear comrades, people of South Sudan and well wishers. What do you understand/thinkk about the current peace deal signed between Kiir and Machar. Is there any ray of hope for South Sudanese? Every country needs peace and living in harmony should be prioritized by giving citizens what belong to them through democratic institutions but this looks uncertain in some African countries including my infant nation. With a transitional government expected to be formed and quoting speech from Kiir who said I am the president of South Sudan and I MUST always remain in that position as the president, leader of that country leaves out a lot to be desired about the prospect of peace. To me this is a greed statement which undermines rights of citizens. In my own opinion, if people of SS, regional countries and the international community need peace in this country, the expected transitional government should take the following into consideration. 1. The interim govt president should neither be a dinka nor a nuer meaning Kiir and Machar excluded from the presidency. This so call large tribes in SS have been the failure of the nation in all aspects. They are greedy for power but can not deliver. Therefore, we need someone from a minority tribe to take the lead such that the two rivals are not anxious about each other. 2. South Sudan needs a comprehensive (democratic) constitution that represent every single citizen of this nation. we all need freedom of expression and choices and not a constitution that is easily manipulated by individuals. 3. South Sudan needs national army that protects its citizen and constitution but not the kind of army that respect individuals. In regards to this, we need a target number of army and every single state will contribute the same percentage. This will minimize cases of majority assumption hence depriving the minority by use of force. 4. There should be no individual army and disarmament to be enforce such that nobody uses the gun as a way to terrorize his citizen. It is this kind of individual army mentality that erupted and worsen the current crisis in this country. 5. The transitional government should last for minimum of 10 years and there after elections are conducted. Political parties to be encourage during this time as people prepare for elections. This nation is wealthy in terms of resources and cultures and if all these are put in proper utilization, we shall realize a boom in the economy. What we should all understand is that, if you are a leader, you are serving a nation but not a family or a tribe hence others have the rights to do the same depending on majority choices and your manifesto . We only need to build a trust in our leadership and to see that every citizen is happy or at least 75%. All for now guys, have your say otherwise I am sick of all this. For how long do we have to hear gun shots and living in refugee.
