Dear contesters The Oceania DX (OCDX) contest committee is pleased to advise that the results of the 2012 OCDX contest are now available at oceaniadxcontest/2012_Results.htm . Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who participated in the contest, even if it was only to make one or two QSOs. The contest committee was pleased to see a substantial increase in the number of PHONE logs from Australian and Indonesian stations. This additional activity from Oceania stations is encouraging, as growing Oceania participation is critical for attracting more participation from stations outside Oceania. Overall, conditions were not as good as in the 2011 contest. The reduced solar flux on the PHONE weekend meant that there was less PHONE activity on 10M, and the disturbed conditions associated with a geomagnetic storm on the CW weekend resulted in a significant reduction in CW activity. As a consequence, the number of logs received also reduced - from 1259 in the 2011 contest to 1205 in 2012. Nonetheless, despite the poorer conditions and reduced participation, plenty of QSOs were still made and a number of new records were set. 2012 CERTIFICATES Certificates have been awarded to the top scoring station in each category for each continent and country. Additionally, a participation certificate identifying the number of successful QSOs has been awarded to each station that participated in the contest. The certificates are available on-line for downloading and printing by individual entrants at their convenience.
