Dear, dear Band sisters, I missed all of you at the reunion so much. However, had I come Karen would have had to stay home. I just couldnt deprive you of Karens presence. Someone had to take care of her mother, who turned 91 on the 23rd of October (while Karen was gone). I planned a big day for her with all her favorites foods and her favorite cake with two candles spelling 91. I even made her blow them out. I doled out birthday cards and birthday emails throughout the day. She went to bed that night (when she thought I was asleep) singing Happy Birthday to me! Karen got home fairly late last night and of course we didnt unload anything except THE GUITAR until today. So this afternoon she came in with this marvelous basket of wonderful Kentucky stuff that she tells me the band voted to give me for taking care of her Momma. How thoughtful and wonderful of all of you to remember me. Some things the basket contains are, a large Kentucky horseshoe, tarter sauce, KY bourbon glass candle, Barrel your own bourbon (kit for aging bourbon), Derby deck of cards, bar-be-que sauce, book of KY curiosities, blueberry Muffin mix, small Louisville slugger bat, Robins pure honey, 2015 Hillbilly calendar, and many other items. The basket is very nice as well. THANK ALL OF YOU SO VERY MUCH. I AM REALLY TOUCHED. I understand that the basket came from Joy Bodner and Donna and had been donated for the silent auction. Thank you Joy and Donna. It is a very clever basket. In addition, another gift from the Band was in the box, thanks to the efforts of Dixie and Sandy, was a tube of Semichrome, as recommended by Pauline Keehn. It is for flute polishing. Thank you Band, Dixie, Sandy and Pauline. I am just flabbergasted. Hugs to all!
