Dear facebook denizens of the feminine and girly - TopicsExpress

Dear facebook denizens of the feminine and girly persuasion: Some of you have likely seen how most of the internet is tearing apart that horribly misogynistic childrens book about Barbie being a computer engineer (lol). See, that actually made me angry in such a way that I want to do something about it. And that something is to write childrens books about feminine and girly girls participating in meaningful hobbies and work. Yes, there ARE similar things to this already, but I have noticed something troubling: In fiction, especially in stuff aimed at younger children, whenever girls start to do boy things, they seem like theyre required to give up their femininity in exchange. Most of the girls doing science/math/blue collar stuff stories tend to depict tomboy characters who are obviously not very girly. Being a crusader for the radical and world-shattering idea that feminine doesnt mean weak, incompetent and irrational, I want to actually make this thing happen, but I need help. Specifically, I need an artist. Im a writer, so I can write stuff. I can do the writing no problem, but I cant draw to save my life. So... anyone else interested, perhaps? I cannot promise fame or glory, or even money, because this will probably not make any of that!
