Dear facebook friends, please forgive me for allowing a heated debate on my page over the weekend. I broke my own rule,and got sucked right into a heated political discussion/debate, over one of my post. I have said it over and over, but some people still dont respect my request. See I actually believe that we all have the right to post whatever we choose on our face book page, and if some dont like or agree with the post, they can do as I do when I see things that others post, that I dont agree with or like, and thats ignore it and keep on going!!! Here are my reasons why- when posting something, its usually information that I think others would also like to see, and its not because Im in the mood to start a long time consuming stressful debate with one of my liberal friends. One said dont be offended, you have been challenged. Some will say if im posting something, I should be ready to be challenged, and some would say, well Im not sharing anymore information that others may value, because I dont want to be challenged. This is just facebook, Im not on the debate team, and im not a candidate for any political office. I also was told that when I felt cornered, I quote scripture. It wasnt that I felt cornered, I quote scripture often, and in these type of discussions, just like Jesus would quote scripture, when confronted by others, especially the religious leaders. See I actually believe, that as we all have many opinions, and thats great, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters, is what does Gods word say. Gods word is truth, and if our opinion doesnt line up with Gods word, well it is what is, just an opinion. See, many of us are very passionate about our moral & political beliefs, and thats ok, but 99% of the time these debates are counter productive, waste peoples time, and can strain friendships. These are good people that mean well, and are very passionate in their beliefs, and maybe they enjoy these type of debates on facebook. So please, lets agree to disagree, and keep peace, and Ill post things I believe on my page, and you have the freedom to post things on your page that you believe in. If you were part of that debate, please know that I value our friendship, no matter if we agree with each other or not, and you can call me anytime if you need a friends help. God Bless :)
