Dear family and friends, It is with a very heavy heart that Nicholas Osborn and I bring the devastating news that the birth mom has changed her mind. Once again, this feels like another one of our children has died. Only this one we got to hold in our arms, kiss his fuzzy little head and stay up with and snuggle him all night long. I cannot begin to describe what we are going through right now. It is an unimaginable loss and the grief is palpable and all consuming. On top of that, we are mortified at the monetary issue. So many of you have contributed and none of it is recoverable. We stand deeply embarrassed for lack of a better word. We feel like we lied to you somehow and are responsible for it. We were not seeking to adopt, though we had prayed about it. We thought that because we were approached and offered the child that somehow this would work. As you can see it did not. Honestly, the reason we had not actively sought to adopt was because we did not think we could handle another situation just like this. We had no desire to be drug through the loss of a child - again. Yet here we are. Prayers are deeply coveted and necessary at this time. I wish we could crawl into a cave and grieve for a month, but we dont have that luxury. Please pray for us, the tunnel is very dark and very long. At this very moment - it is hard to see a way out.
