Dear family of God, Week two of being cancer free, I find I - TopicsExpress

Dear family of God, Week two of being cancer free, I find I still tire out pretty fast but thats ok. That will get better. I also want to update you on my dying to overeating. I am down 5 lbs. Praise God! And PRAISE GOD for those holding me accountable (yeah, Youth Leader Team, Jerry, Scott, Eva and Garrett . . . to name a few) and praying for me and with me. My prayer muscle has continued to grow as I pray when tempted. I also do not eat after 8:00 p.m. and have cut out fried foods, pop and desserts. It is helping me feel better. We are heading into October. Normally this is Pastor Appreciation month. I am hoping that if you want to appreciate your pastor you will join me in the PRAY31 nationwide call to prayer while we continue to pray for persecuted Christ followers around the world. World Communion Sunday is the first Sunday in October. We will be learning about Islam and praying for the church worldwide in service that day. I want to strongly encourage you to join me in prayer this month. I was re-reading RADICAL TOGETHER by David Platt and this passage struck my heart: Is it really possible to have all the trappings of the church and yet miss the heart of Christ? Is it possible for church people to be so focused on personal comforts and so fearful of the potential cost that they virtually forget the purpose of God among all the peoples of the world? As a former overseas missionary, I know the cost many pay to follow Christ. I witnessed it first hand. As a pastor in the USA, I am called to equip the church to BE the church and follow Christ, to be about building and advancing Gods Kingdom, not our own. I invite you to be on your knees in prayer with me for America and for the church universal the month of October. Blessings my fellow Christ- followers, Pastor Cindi
