Dear fellow Fulbrighters, with all the atrocities going on in the - TopicsExpress

Dear fellow Fulbrighters, with all the atrocities going on in the world, especially lately in the Middle East, I hope you are all safe. In many situations, we continuously ask ourselves what should we do? How can we save lives? How can we help a nation gain freedom, dignity and justice, whether that nation is in Africa, Asia, Europe or Latin America? As a Palestinian and human rights lawyer, I urge you to read about what is going on in Palestine. In the past 23 days, 1250 Palestinians died and 7000 people injured. 90% of those killed are civilians. A child dies every hour in Gaza. https://youtube/watch?v=w84oEbtZOHU&feature=share (Watch: eight Dutch children tell the story of eight Palestinian children killed by Israel.) I would suggest, first to read about what is going on from various sources and not stick to mainstream media that can be misleading at times. Second, spread the news and talk to your friends, family and political representatives about what is going on. Tell your representatives you refuse that people are killed under the approval or silence of your country, under your name. Third, I urge you to read about the Boycott, Sanctions and Divestment Campaign. We all have a personal role in stopping atrocities around the world, and it can be by a simple, No I wont buy Israeli products or I want to withdraw my pension from this provider who invests in Israel. bdsmovement.net/ We should all refuse being complicit in the violation of international law and peoples rights.
