Dear fellow Republicans: It is my pleasure to endorse Ronna Romney McDaniel for Michigan Republican Party Chair. When I first met Ronna, I simply knew her as Ronna McDaniel - one of my constituents, mother of Nash and Abigail, and wife of Patrick. Only later did I come to realize her connection to one of the most prominent GOP families in our state. I share this because I would like to highlight one of the principle reasons for which I support Ronna. Much like me, she engaged in GOP politics as an outsider working her way up from the grassroots. She did not use the Romney name as a badge of privilege. Her escalation through the ranks of our party is driven by merit supplemented by the insights that she has gained as a member of a family experienced in the challenging world of politics. Ronna has unique qualities that make her the ideal candidate for state party chair. First of all, she is genuine. You won’t hear her say one thing to one group and another thing to another group. She speaks from the heart. She speaks from experience as a mother of two concerned for her children’s future. And she speaks very, very well. Furthermore, her family connections do provide her with access to an established network of donors committed to a strong MI GOP. It will require significant financial commitments in order to retain our majority in the state house and make gains in our federal representation. She has the connections that we need to make this happen. As our National Committee Woman, she has also had a lot of experience meeting with grassroots activists and longtime party faithfuls throughout our state. These travels have not only given her an opportunity to express what is on her heart, but it has given her insights into what is on your hearts. I am convinced that this is why she is running for party chair. I am truly concerned about what I perceive to be a growing schism in our party. A schism between newly engaged grassroots activists and activists which have poured their energy into strengthening the GOP in Michigan for years. In order for our state to realize our full potential, we need a party chair with the talent, the wisdom, the network, and the determination necessary to unify our party under a banner of core Republican ideals. I believe that Ronna is the best candidate to do so and I strongly encourage your support of Ronna for Michigan Republican Party Chair.
