Dear friends - Sughd USG Alumni Association I will suggest anew project, your opinion is very important for me: 2 year nonprofit project: Rural population development using Sughd USG Alumni Association members international experience The main aim of this project is the support to the population of rural districts of Tajikistan to be close to global community as one world Under the aegis of Sughd USG Alumni Association and financial support of the Us Embassy in Dushanbe : Geographically it is difficult to connect far rural places in mountainous Tajikistan with cultural centers like Dushanbe, Khujand and many others. Usually governmental and international cultural programs are not available to the population of rural places because of luck of internet access, luck of electricity and finance, so I’m a 2010-2011 USG Fulbright Alumni present a project which will contribute to step-by-step solving of this problem in one of them -Spitamen district- rural division of northern Tajikistan. The project consists of 2 steps: educational and practical: First step is educational: 1. Organizing summer educational camps with Sughd USG Alumni Association members in Spitamen in order to inform and promote international educational and cultural exchange programs (2 day workshop in historical place of Spitamen) 2. Organizing classes with inviting Khujand state university teachers to Spitamen school children teaching English, computing and environment studies(twice a year during winter and summer vocations) 3. Organizing workshops to Spitamen rural school teachers of English and environmental studies dedicated to the new methods of teaching. 4. Organize the branch of the Khujand American Corner in Spitamen
