Dear friends, Herein, with the kind permission of you all, I am placing my latest article(THE CHORDS OF TIME) for your reading and appreciation. THE CHORDS OF TIME Time moves ahead and marches on. Lost time can never be regained though we may have illusionary access to previous time phases through the phenomenal powers of our mental faculties. Sometimes we feel the essence of time flowing as a rapid current while on few rare occasions we sense it to be at a standstill. Such rare feelings arise during fascinating experiences with hypnotic individuals or mesmerizing sights. At some junctures we may be merely akin to helpless spectators of time bypassing us or else betraying us. At other scenarios we find it extremely hard to pass time. Imagine a situation in which an individual feels that he has completed all the tasks assigned for the day. Thenceforth he stands in an unusual state of mental vacuum that intrinsically troubles his mind. During such phases, the person’s brain might be reeling with the question ‘what to do?’. We may consider another particular situation in which an individual or a group of individuals is kept waiting for long hours or periods. As salient examples, we may cite the plight of passengers of a road journey of a hill route stranded on account of a landslide or a landslip or of passengers of air travel kept waiting at the airport after their security check-up on account of an excessive delay in the flight. Having emphasized upon the above two illustrations we cannot talk or convey sense unless and until we make due mention of the road and railway journeys. Therein we are often kept waiting and fuming with utter frustration. We also have few other salient noteworthy illustrations. An individual awaiting his turn for interview at the office of a job provider is a common one. An individual or a group of individuals awaiting the arrival of his idol or favorite personality for several hours is another important situation. The perpetually warring groups or the individuals habitual of performing incessant violent acts are utterly bored of excessively lengthy non-violent stretches of time. For desirable success in life, individuals ought to be optimum managers of time. For such optimization we should be able to analyse the rudimentary causes of the time delays through systematic utilization of aesthetic and strategic modes. Great persons and personalities as they are socially conceived are believed to be sufficiently efficient at utilizing such phases with optimistic excellence. Most of us desire to become great and embrace greatness. So let us develop and cultivate the art and habit of making the best use of the long boring phases through healthy entertainment or some creative activity. The more efficiently we are able to use them the greater we shall become. All of us need to be aware of the perpetual truth that we cannot conquer time or suppress its flowing packets of energy.
