Dear friends!!! I have sent this Letter to Shree Narendra Modi jee...... From, Pintu Kumar S/O-Shree Shambhu Choudhary Village+Post-Gardhiya,Via-Mansi,Dist-Khagaria,Bihar,PIN-851214 Mobile# 8608671003 Email# pintu.kumar19870505@gmail To, Shree NarendraModijee Chief Minister of Gujarat and NDA Prime ministerial candidate Block No 1, 5th Floor, New Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India Subject:-Please put your views and development agenda for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas(JNV) in your election speech and rallies (navodaya.nic.in/) Dear Shree Modijee, Pranam!! You are going to be our next prime minister after General election 2014.Your focus on skill development and creation of job opportunities has attracted the attention of every youth irrespective of caste, creed and religion. I wish to bring to your notice about the large number of youth& Students doing their study in JawaharNavodayaVidalaya across India and their problems. JawaharNavodayaVidyalayas(JNV) are located all over India, including Lakshadweep and A & N Islands except the State of Tamil Nadu. They are managed by NavodayaVidyalayaSamiti(NVS), an autonomous organization of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, and Department of Secondary Education and Higher Education, Government of India.Navodaya Vidyalayas were started with 2 experimental schools in 1985-86. They have now grown up to 551 JNVs covering as many districts in 34 States/UTs. As an Alumni of NavodayaVidalaya, We are eager to know your views and development agenda for JawaharNavodayaVidyalayas(JNV) in your election speech and rallies. From more than 25 years, JNV has produced many IAS, IPS, Engineers, Doctors, Defense personnel, Businessmen and many more professionals around the world. Now, we should look from the perspective of population of JNV Alumni, Students, staff and supporting contractor in India. As per Wikipedia, there are 1.80 Lakhs of Student currently enrolled in India(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Navodaya_Vidyalayas) and every year, one batch of 80 Students will passed out from 12th standardand fresh batch get enrolled in 6th standard. It meansthese numbers will keep on refreshing with new entrants. As per my personal experience, even in a small village and Town, We have at least 4-5 Alumni OR Current student OR Staff of JNV.These numbers will never reduce; it will always keep on adding. Now, we should look from pan India approach, with the latest census of 2011(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_India),we have 638,000 villages and 5,100 Towns in India. If we multiple our estimate of 4-5 direct JNV students OR Alumni OR Staff (Including their guardian and close relatives, It will be minimum 20-25 people who are directed connected with JNV) per village or Town then the total population comes under the direct cover of JNV is (638,000 village+5,100 Town)X20=1,28,62000 people. These numbers will keep on increasing. So, that’s my point that why not you also include the voice of more than one crore people in your speech and rallies. We have below suggestions along with the problems faced by JNV Alumni, Students, staff and contractors. 1.Navodaya Vidalaya was started with a mission to give quality education to poor &talented studentswith 60% reservation for rural students.Students need to clear the Entrance Exam, being conducted at district level. With increasing population and tough competition, poor students are not able to clear the Entrance due to lack of preparation. Now, the students from so called private school and coaching center are able to pass the test with good preparation and quality study material. Every PanchyatLibrary and primary school should be supplied with Books for preparation of Entrance Test of JNV along with the trained staff that can assist poor students. Any Ex-student of Navodaya could be taken on contract for three months prior to test for preparation of entrance exams. 2. All the temporary Vidalaya should be converted into permanent one with ample land, building and all the facilities. Due to lack of building and facility, Some Vidalaya is having intake capacity of just 40 students instead of 80 students, as per standard. 3. After completing 12th standard, meritorious students should be given scholarship for higher education. 4. Alumni of JNV should be given reservation in Teachers & staff selection process. 5.We suggest startingof “Navodaya College” for Degree courses on the same standard and facilities of JNV School in every state for 12th pass out from JNV Schools ONLY. There could be many more suggestion and problems regarding JNV. Hope, you will carefully consider my suggestions!! And Discuss on the same in your forthcoming speech and rallies.
