Dear friends. I was taken by surprise when I switched on my receivers and was not able to receive the only true Greek cultural but also informative in the true word free to air Greek station ERT. ERT was a dedicated station that has and deserves the respect for non burst news as a representative of the Greek countries voice. While I am sorry to say that most of the Greek channels where focusing on mesmerising there viewers through the appearances of there "star" presenters ERT focus was in cultural programs that kept in touch with the ground routes of the Greek people. Through the dictatorship ERT (EIRT) was the civil station while YENED was the station of that Junta used to spread propaganda. But even under the military law the voice of the people had more respect then today. This is a great shame for the birth land of democracy. Imagine what if ABC, BBC would have the same fate and we would be left with the mediocre stations of the private enterprise has only to offer that serves there private interest through there cheap shows that are only getting cheaper....?!
