Dear friends, It is with great sadness that we are sharing the story of Bob Cashen, a Hope Springs rider who passed away on November 24th. When Bob first came to us from ReMed in 2011, he immediately claimed Beauty as his own. It was quickly apparent to all how much they loved each other. Beauty would greet Bob at each lesson, first by touching his hand, then his arm, and finally blowing gently on his face. The smile on Bob’s face was matched by the softness in Beauty’s eyes. As he rode Beauty, we could all see Bob grow stronger and happier. On Bob’s last day, Beauty said good-bye to her Bob at the Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital. Thanks to tremendous efforts by Bob’s caretakers at ReMed and Seasons, and quick transport by our neighbor Megan, our instructors Jeannie and Natalie were able to make Bob’s final wish come true. Bob and Beauty got one final chance to nuzzle hello in their special way, and then touch their last good-byes. Over the past three years Bob became a friend to everyone at our barn, singing songs with a twinkle in his eye and laughing through it all. To honor our Bob, with his family’s permission, we are now sharing some favorite memories of Bob Cashen and his Beauty at Hope Springs. Bob, our dear friend, you are missed. -- The staff, volunteers, riders, and horses of Hope Springs
