I hope the sentiment and motivation behind this idea is self explanatory after reading the following short story. Here in Africa I have a huge family, ten of us, who Im privileged to have been placed with, their kindness and love is overwhelming. They have however suffered their fair share of tragedy and heart ache. My two incredible little sisters were left without a mother when she was murdered only this April. Their father can not support them but visits time to time. They were taken under the wing of their grandparents, they are happy and work hard at school. This beautiful family is pure testament to their strength and love for each other. I asked my 7 and 9 year old sisters what they were asking Santa for this Christmas? Their reply kinda broke my heart...... Santa doesnt visit Botswana the look on their face was one of confusion (like obviously we dont ask Santa for stuff are you mental?) and sadness....Could you write to him and ask him if he will come? Erm. Sure. It got me thinking. I could give these girls and this family the gift of magic this Christmas. I could arrange a special visit from Santa. A little note left with some extra presents reading Hello Ame and Amantle, your sister Lorato wrote to me to say you have been very good girls this year and working hard in school! so I decided to make a special trip to Kang just for you...love Santa They want lots of things...a bike, a scooter, a cap, a doll. Ame wants pink everything, Amantle wants blue (my fellow tomboy). Just simple, reasonable requests....no iPhones or fancy game consoles. I literally love these girls and would like you to help me raise some funds to buy some awesome presents. Things they can only dream of because their family can only dream of affording them. These kids seriously value their belongings and will share them with children in the community, these gifts would bring so much joy to lots of children. It would be a special end to a very difficult year for a very deserving family. I am buying the presents this weekend because I am going for a trip to the capital, so please donate ASAP so I know my budget. Thank you so much for offering.
