Dear friends, Today is a day of grievance. The Terror attack in France - Paris at the Charlie Hebdo French satirical magazine Office is a blow to intellectual freedom, the freedom of opinion, press, thought, expression, conscience and the right to free speech. Every person in the world has the right to freely express their opinion in whatever format they like and cause disruption in people in whatever way possible, the right to insult is not exempted either. A person crosses the line when it starts to use violence for communication and to shut down the opposition. No one has a right and freedom to do violent acts without first resorting to diplomacy. The people, a community, a social institution are themselves responsible for their (collective) decisions, if they decide to use violence against words, taboos opinions pictures speech then they show how weak and insecure they are, and inable of diplomatic treatment and diplomatic relations. We, non-muslims do not have to comply and respect to your interpretations of the quran/hadith or islam, or to the consensus of what mainstream islam has to say on how to treat every aspect of the religion. We, non-muslims have all the right to offend you if we like, and it is the task of those who profess to know islam to speak out to the non-muslim world, and to come to an agreement we all can live with. If there is no tolerance shown by the muslim world, do not expect for us non-muslims to not retaliate. Yours, Arsjaad Poese
