Dear friends and family, While bittersweet it is...I can announce that volleyball season 2014 is complete. This means you will be seeing more of me again - as will my husband. Andrea Loeb Tiede we owe you dinner, Harmony Kistler Whalen & Allysa Martinez I owe you a movie night :) Why do I take on coaching? Well, it keeps me involved in a sport I love very much, but more than that its because were saved to serve. So I shall pour into these girls because I can, because God calls us to pour into others, because someone poured into me. Because, maybe I can show them the importance of making good choices in life, of pursuing Christ, of using their passions to glorify God...and be a confirmation to them that even when they dont make good choices in life - God can turn it into something beautiful... :) In David Letterman top 10 style - here are a few thoughts on my 4th volleyball season with the MCC team. 1. Nothing motivates you to start a diet like volleyball season, and 3 months of convenience stores, fast food, big hotel breakfasts, ice cream stops, and all kinds of snacks and goodies sent in the vans with us from moms and grandmas! 2. Ill hear the song Leave the Night On approximately 10 less times per week, but Ill also immediately fall out of touch with all currently popular music. 3. Ill be witness to exponentially less selfies, snapchats, and instagrams. 4. Ill snort, feel my eyes widen, shake my head, and laugh (usually all at the same time) a lot less since I dont get to spend several hours a day with the girls. 5. I will not step foot in a Subway or a sandwich shop again for a long, long time. 6. My house might actually get cleaned again. 7. My husband might get home cooked meals again for supper. 8. Date night with my husband will actually be a real thing again. :) 9. Ill come home with far fewer hilarious stories of Ray Sanders getting in trouble from Lauren for something he said out loud in front of the girls or to the refs. 10. Ill immediately begin missing them all and thinking about next season.
