Dear friends and fans of Big Brother and the Holding Company, My daughter Liz Getz who performs as ‘Dezi Paige’ is one of the singer/songwriters who has been selected in the final voting for the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Song Writing Competition. Her song “Vacuum” was the winner in the ‘Pop’ category last year. Its right there on the top of the voting section on the right side. The voting link is here: jlsc/vote That was great but now it’s it’s the real, BIG final for the $20k first prize. In the first phase of the contest the winners were decided by a panel of judges made up of well-known songwriters and people in the Music Industry. In this next phase of the contest the winners are decided by a popular vote and the contestants are encouraged to use social media to let people hear their music and have their friends and fans show their support. As a dad I’m really proud, but I’m being a cheerleader and trying to get her the votes that she needs to win, because as a musician who has heard and played so much of the great music of the last 100 years I really believe that Dezi Paige has the goods as a songwriter.
