Dear friends, as Laura continues her hospice days, she does so with an occasional anxious and troubled moment, but largely with her loving, gracious, kind, and tender-but-independent nature intact. She rests comfortably and pain-free more and more, and we delight in the punctuated occasional times of PURE joy and lovely connectedness, and yes even still, sweet humor. Everyday she still cracks a joke that makes me laugh. She has many dear friends helping to attend her physical needs, as I remove the Primary Caregiver name tag and take the far deeper one of caring and comforting spouse and father to our children, those in, and out of the home. One cannot ask for much more in these days. Small blessings. I show her the new Flower it Forward posts and she thinks each are lovely. She gives me three gentle kisses and tells me that she loves me. Yesterday she gave me our special message that weve exchanged in one form or another everyday for years and years... I love you today she whispered to me. I love you today, too, Sweet Pea...and for all the days forevermore.
