Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you (1 Peter 4:12). My brothers and sisters, I have been in a war for the last year or so. The Lord seems to be so distant at this time in my life. His peace and joy has seemed to excape my grasp. His contentment has alluded me. The love that I had for my first love has become luke warm. I feel as if I am all alone on a deserted island, where there is none to comfort me. But, through all this, I say Amen! James 1:2 says, My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Why you may ask. Well, verse 3 gives the answer, it says, For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. Brethren, we are in the last days. The devil has already begun his onslaught against the children of Almighty God, and its only going to intensify! We need to be prepared! We need to allow the Lord to prepare us as His vessels, and God uses trials, hardships, tribulations and disappointments to do just that! Listen to the Word of our God, And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, AFTER YOU HAVE SUFFERED A LITTLE WHILE, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast (1 Peter 5:10). Saints, we are dead smack in a middle of a war. Just as a nation breaks their soldiers down, and then builds them back up so that they may be vessels prepared for war, so does the Lord do to His soldiers. These trials that we go through are not meant to destroy us as they do to the people of this world. On the contrary, these trials come into our lives to prepare us as vessels that the Lord can use to defeat the enemy of our souls! Stand fast Saints! Be still through the fire of adversity. Stand fast through the deep waters that you may find yourself swimming in. Keep calm my brothers and sisters. Do not turn to the right or to the left, and keep your thoughts focussed completely upon your Commander in Chief as He forms you into a vessel that is fully prepared to fight in His Army!!
