Dear friends, it is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jayne, the founder and owner of our venue Stunners. Jayne died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday 30th May 2013. With Stunners Jayne created a visionary, alternate reality that has been a haven and safe space for many of us over the years. She is dearly missed. In accordance with Jayne’s wishes Stunners will endeavor to continue under the leadership of her former manager. There are however many issues and obstacles that must be negotiated before the future of the club can be assured. Since the death of Jayne the site owners have declined to renew the lease on the building. We are currently facing the closure of Stunners at Cable Street Studios on Sunday 30th June. We are not planning on leaving without putting up a fight. We are calling upon you all for your support during this turbulent period, we are determined that Stunners should continue to keep Jayne’s vision alive. If anyone can offer specialist legal advice we would love to hear from you. Likewise if anyone has information on other suitable venues, we are considering every option. As the situations stands right now we have just three weekends left before the locks are changed. We are hoping to be able to negotiate a reprieve but this is far from being certain. We have decided to help organise, in conjunction with Stunners, a memorial party to celebrate the life and achievements of Jayne and help to maintain her legacy. This will be a benefit party for Stunners to help pay towards the legal costs involved with either opening a new venue or fighting for the right to stay at Cable St. The Memorial/Benefit Party is on Saturday 15th June from 10pm - 10am. DJs kindly donating their services on the night will be HaLo-iS, Miss Jacqueline, Planet Phil, Bright Daffodil, Kris XIII, Bradley Kaos & Dr Mu + more tbc. KAOS itself will be on Saturday 29th June. The day before our lease is to expire. We cannot be sure at this stage, but it is very possible this will be the final KAOS at Cable St. Studios. With this in mind we have decided to extend the opening hours. The party will start on Saturday afternoon at 5pm with Stunners DJs playing until 10pm when KAOS takes over the decks with Bright Daffodil, HaLo-iS, Dr Mu, Chad Curry (INTERZONE), A/Ona (Drone, Berlin) and Choronzon closing the night. For this historic KAOS the paying guest list will be £15 (first 300 only), or £20 on the door. There will be no free guest list, we hope you understand that we are doing everything we can to assure the future of both Stunners and KAOS.
