Dear friends of Alex Roshuk ... Our beloved friend and brother, whom Ive known since the late 1970s, has left this realm. Words at this point can not begin to describe how sad I feel for his departure. Alex was truly a Noble Soul, whose deep humanity was so strong and true as to lead him to defend numerous artistic causes, as a true modern pioneer of not-for-profit structures in the US (the Standby program, for video, being just one example) and then to be a Lawyer in NYC. I heard from him so many sad, tragic and outrageous stories from his life representing, so often, potential victims of the justice system. I wont recount here some of the awful moments, like getting his getting punched IN THE NYC COURTHOUSE, by a famous landlord-favorable lawyer who was outraged how well Alex Roshuk, Esq. was defending against the eviction of a womens shelter from yet another gentrifiable NY building... never mind. The essential: Alex was a wonderful and loving being, dealing with all kinds of crazy stuff in this crazy life. His spiritual and religious soul remained intact and lovable. May these time of transition for his remarkable soul and spirit lead him toward the Sublime Realms, and may our prayers, wishes, and chants truly Accompany him onward. _( )_.
