Dear friends of C.O.P.S. Arizona, It has been seven years since the Holly family lost their hero. Glendale Police Officer Anthony Holly was shot and killed during a traffic stop on February 19, 2007. Year after year, the trial has been delayed (most recently for the Jodi Arias trial), making the healing process that much difficult for his survivors. In the words of Holly’s mother, Nancy Bonner – “Enough is enough”. In acknowledgement that this is late notice, Anthony’s family has requested your presence at the hearing tomorrow. C.O.P.S. Arizona encourages our network of survivors to show support at: Tuesday, Feb. 11th, 2014 3:30 p.m. 175 W. Madison Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85003 Courtroom 5A – Judge Joseph C. Welty If you plan on attending the hearing, it is important to remember the following items: • Check your clothing and appearance. Consider wearing conservative, professional clothing. • If you are a Holly survivor, please consider bringing a photo of him with you and hold it up during the hearing. • Be sure not disrupt court procedures. Keep conversations minimal and avoid outbursts. • If you are a public employee, please be sure to attend the hearing on your own time. Thank you to the C.O.P.S. Arizona network that can attend the hearing. If you can’t make it, consider sending a note to the Holly family via email at nancybonn55@gmail or say a prayer for their family. Nancy Bonner added in an email to C.O.P.S., “Seven years. How can it be seven years? I can hear Tonys Heeeeeelllo as he walked through the door. I can hear his laugh and feel his hugs. If tears could bring Tony back, he would be here now and I know that even God wishes that evil would not have prevailed on that Presidents Day morning.” Sincerely, Jan Blaser-Upchurch, President of C.O.P.S. Arizona
