Dear friends of David . I love you all so much . Thank you for the immense love you have showered on our family over the past 13 months. I am still in awe of the continuing support and care you all pour out on us. The love you share in letters and emails overwhelms me with gratitude . David has been a groomsman ,a Best Man , had a magnificent bouquet of flowers in his memory all at weddings of his friends. Two weeks ago he was honored by the congregation singing Be Thou my vision at another wedding. I so regret not being able to attend two other weddings of dear friends of Davids who married this summer. I was not strong enough emotionally. This coming up weekend we will travel to Covenant College to attend The David Taaffe Memorial soccer game ... So very humbled by this David would be too. He was a humble guy . He would love it though. This summer has been tough I just think the realization that he is not coming back home again is the hardest. Billy travelled back to Switzerland with Roy ...Davids great friend from Covenant College. They retraced Davids journey to The Swiss Alps. They took photographs of every spot David Scott and Johnny were. They went with the search and rescue team that found David . They saw the spot where he slipped and fell and the spot where the rescue team found him. Billy and Roy placed a cross signed by our entire family and Roy in that spot.The family made this small wooden cross and varnished it before Billy left. Billy felt peace after this trip for the first time since the accident. I thank God for that. Roy and Billy then went to Madrid and stayed with David Barnes(one of the missionaries on staff with Mission To The World)David had been an intern there last year. They met up with a lot of people David had been in community with including some people he had shared the love of God with and also shared the gospel with . They were all so loving and gracious to Billy and Roy. God continues to show me His love throughout this difficult journey. Im so blessed by stories of David. Learning more of some of the crazy things he did as a RA on second central. Connor told me he would cry as he would sing Yellow by Coldplay! He loved all music from U2 to Mumford and Sons to Coldplay the Avett brothers.. I think I spelt that correctly! To all hymns. I miss his voice and his singing . He always was singing even as a little boy.. This is what I was reading tonight in Davids bible(Gods Word) The Beatitudes Chapter 5 verse 2-13 verse 8 stood out to me Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God verse 9Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God May God be with you all tonight and fill you with peace and hope.I pray for you all each day . Spend time in Gods word study His word and fill your minds with the knowledge of Gods truth . With much love Davids Mama.
