Dear friends of EFPSA, The holidays are here and the EFPSA - TopicsExpress

Dear friends of EFPSA, The holidays are here and the EFPSA rhythms are slowing down. In the Board of Management we try to enjoy our holidays but we always still continue with our EFPSA work. For this Postcard we chose a photo from the last Joint EB & MR Meeting that shows all the joy we experienced from being together and working together. Nearing the close of this year, we look back and appreciate the highlights of 2014. However, even though holidays are here we still have interesting news to share with you. In November, Social Impact’s Ivan Flis and JEPS’ Katharina Brecht participated in the OpenCon in Washington and they gave us a great insight into what happened in the recent Bulletin post (blog.efpsa.org/2014/11/26/set-the-default-to-open/). Check the previous link but also the recent interview with Prof. Daniel Brom in Israel and the “A Psychologist guide to Reading a Neuroimaging Paper’’ here (blog.efpsa.org/) . It is evident that JEPS continues to be active not only in the publishing area but when it comes to Open Research advocacy as well. Jumping to the Training Office, recently six members of the Trainers community participated in the TRAM event in Paris with trainers from different organisations. Sessions were delivered on the topic ‘’Training Follow Up’’ and 2 two of those sessions were delivered by EFPSA trainers, one about the impact of a training during a session and another titled ‘The Secret Power of Relationships within Follow-Up Strategy.’ We want to congratulate our trainers for their great external presence! Going to our legislative body, our Member Representatives are busy reading and voting for several events and positions. In the Board of Management we created documents summarising the process behind the selection of people and host teams and for sure our MRs have a lot of homework to do. We hope the results of the e-voting will be positive and in our next Postcard we will announce the new orgs and volunteers of EFPSA! Have you recently seen the extension of the Call for Joint Executive Board & Member Representatives Meeting hosts? If you haven’t already, check it out here (efpsa.org/2014/12/16/extended-call-for-an-organising-committee-for-the-joint-executive-board-member-representatives-meeting-autumn-2015/) and consider applying! We are really curious to see who will be the next org! Last but not least, as the Board of Management we want to thank all the people who made 2014 memorable. Even though we cannot have a connection with all the volunteers directly, every week we receive detailed updates about the progress that is happening throughout each team and project in our BM meetings. We cannot help but feel fortunate from all the work the volunteers invest in their projects and feel proud to be able to watch EFPSA’s continuous growth. We feel a great responsibility of keeping the EFPSA values alive, no matter what challenges we face along the way. 2014 a year was full of many obstacles, but more importantly, it gave us many wonderful memories that will be kept alive in 2015 and beyond. We hope you will all have great a holiday period and enjoy the break with the people you love. Until next time and next year, Your Board of Management, Mariyan, Spyra, Mirna, Jayne, Ana, Alex, and Tajana efpsa.org/2014/12/24/eighth-postcard-from-the-board-of-management-2/
