Dear friends of the Bistro, the month of August has begun. Here and in Europe, I have always found this month rather strange...here, there are clear signs that the weather is heating up, but the dead grass speaks of winter...in Europe, it is warm, but some leaves already start changing colour and falling...so, the menu this week also seems to be split between the seasons of summer and winter! Red pepper hummus and herb bread is the couvert, followed by a starter of either fine spaghetti with sicilian lemon cream and gremolata, or crab salad with avocado and grilled tomatoes. For the main course, choose between a grilled filet mignon on a bed of white bean pure, served with a mushroom sauce, or grilled salmon, with a balsamic glaze, served with a salad of small potatoes and a dressing of yoghurt and dill. For dessert, choose between a pear, poached in sweet wine, served with a ginger and cinnamon cookie, or Margarita ice cream. I really hope that you enjoy this menu.
