Dear friends, please pray tonight and in the coming months for the Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at William and Mary. I cant express how angry and sad the news of our chaplains imminent departure from active ministry there has made me. On one level, it just sucks. End of story, full stop. At the same time, today I heard an uplifting sermon this morning at St. Stephens here in Winston-Salem on Ezekiel 37, the raising of the dry bones. How, no matter how dry the bones of a situation may seem, we should never deny the power of Gods grace to make things right in the most unexpected of ways. And the bones of this situation are anything but dry: instead of apathetic, timid Whiskypalians, William and Mary is full of caring, brilliant, selfless, Whiskypalians committed to the worship of God through prayer and sacrament.
