Dear furiends, I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was struggling with some pretty heavy things. We all know that cruelty exists everywhere, but a rescue near and dear to my heart, one that rescues special needs dogs (though they are not opposed to special needs kitties), has been hit with a wave of special needs dogs from Egypt lately. These dogs have significant injuries with no access to medical care at all. Furthermore, for religious reasons, Egyptians do not believe in euthanasia, causing the animals to suffer even more. Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation have pulled many dogs from Egypt, providing quality vet care for the pups as soon as they land here in the US. I have mentioned before that I try to be extremely judicious in the pleas for help that I post. I have been following SNARR for awhile, and have people close to me who have helped with the transport of some of these Egyptian dogs, but I have refrained from asking for help - until now. There is a pup who had acid poured on her. I will not post the pictures, but you can visit the link of you wish. I will warn you, her picture is even worse than mine. If you can help, even if you can just share, please do. This poor sweet girl - words fail me, furiends. THe WONDERFUL news is that SNARR WILL be bringing this girl to the US. Tonight, I will rejoice in that knowledge and renew my efforts to reduce animal abuse in the US, in hopes that other countries will follow suit.
