Dear girl with the Beauty Queen knit cap riding your skateboard east on 4th street tonight. I was running toward you with my ragtag two dogs and you stepped aside to let us pass. First, thank you, it was very kind to notice it was taking everything I had to keep the canines controlled and yet keep my feet under me as I attempt this journey to be a runner. Secondly, be proud of who you are and dont avoid eye contact. I wanted to say hello and tell you thanks for letting us pass. Your shy eyes are very pretty and you should keep your chin up. If it was a tough day I would have given you my goofy smile to let you know life will surprise you and be ready for the good things ahead. Being so young, a girl, and looking lost is a tough place to be. I hope you find your confidence. And I hope next time we pass, youll see me smiling at you.
