Dear local candidate: I consider myself an - TopicsExpress

Dear local candidate: I consider myself an independent voter at the local and state level. If you want my vote, dont call me 25 times a day and not leave a message. Dont fill my mailbox up with your flyers. Dont tie stuff to my windshield wipers or house door. This is what Id like you to do to get my vote. I would like to see a candidate talk about their OWN previous accomplishments while in office. Surely they did something in the past 2-4 years while in office. be honest and be willing to admit mistakes and what you learned from them and what you will do to correct them. I would like to see a candidate take responsibility for their actions rather than blaming previous administrations. Id like to see a local candidate talk about local issues rather than mixing local issues with global and national activities that do not come under his / her jurisdiction. Id like to see a candidate talk about his / her qualifications rather than cutting down their opposition. Im kind of tired of every candidate blaming Bush, Obama, Hillary, the Tea Party, Republicans, Democrats and taxes for whats wrong in our local area. Provide me some believable stats without a spin/slant. Show me you actually have knowledge of local activities and concerns. Tell me why you want the job. and promise me youll work until you get the job done rather than taking constant recesses to campaign and putting off controversial issues until after the election! if you can do that, you got my vote!
