Dear lovely customers, I need your help as Id really appreciate it if you could come to a unique night we are co-producing to raise funds for the charity we support. On May 6th and 7th we are creating an edible cinema style event at Millbank called Meet My World; a project produced by Andina and Amantani. Tickets are just £10 and all proceeds go to Amantani. Meet My World is a collection of 12 beautifully shot short films which teach us lessons about food in Peru. They have been made by the brilliant Peruvian Director Cristina Patiño Sheen and 12 children in Amantani’s care. The children are our teachers and the films tell beautiful stories about food in the Peruvian Andes. My team and I will be matching tasters to go with each of the 3-minute short films in an edible-cinema kind of way. We’ve never done this before, but we will do it with all the passion and love that you know we put into everything that we do. Some lovely people like Michael Palin, Rob Da Bank, Ollie Dabbous, Harry Judd, Bompas & Parr, Tom Parker-Bowles and Tenor Juan Diego Florez have all generously donated their time in support of the films. Never before have the beneficiaries of a charity been asked to teach us something but here we learn, and their self-esteem flourishes like a flower. I would pray never for my children to go through what some children in the Andes of Peru have to go through. We help the most extreme cases at Amantani.org.uk but beyond the darkness we also see that these children have valuable skills and knowledge worth sharing which can enrich you and me. I have worked with Amantani since first opening Ceviche and support them as much as I can through everything I do to ensure their great work is sustained and encouraged. Amantani supports indigenous Andean children by providing boarding houses, education, nutrition and a support network. These films will be screened exclusively for the first time on May 6th and 7th at London’s Millbank Centre. Please join us. Thank you, and please share this post.
