Dear members, we have a 7 year old son who on occasion will play rough with 4 of our 5 dogs. We do tell him off and in fact so will the dogs when theyve had enough. However a few visitors feel that our dogs are scared of him because they will cower and hide when hes charging around on his scooter or just generally running around the house. As soon as hes home from school though, hes the first one they all greet. They all seem to enjoy sitting in the lounge either on him or around him when hes watching tv, and usually at least 3 of the 5 will end up snuggling in his bed with him during the night. My question is, do dogs that are scared of a family member display such affection and interest in that person? Or is this normal behaviour of dogs who are in fact scared? Thank you for any opinions and advice.
