Dear ones - In a recent post about the speed limit on Lake Road,, someone made a snarky comment about keeping the speed limit when following a Lance Armstrong cyclist. I ride with several Cleveland area cycling groups, and Lake Road in Bay Village has been a subject of discussion -- it is known as a very dangerous place for cyclists. Not just that is is a busy road, and it is not even about keeping the speed limit low -- but the motorists have a very aggressive and impatient attitude toward cycles on that road. Bicycles do have the same right to be on that road as cars, and since there are no sharrows here, I think they actually can take the lane. I do not like to hear that my community is known for being an unsafe place to ride. What are your thoughts on how we can work together to share the road, and make cyclists feel safe and welcome to ride here?
