Dear single, Most times, single men and women tend to focus on the kind of spouse they want (I was like that too)! My friends and I would always chat and daydream about our future husbands. He must be this and that. If he is not this and that, I wont give him the time of day. I never thought about making myself like the spouse I wanted. No way! Any man that wanted to marry me must do all the work and meet all my standards. As I became more mature, I realised that Mr Right is also looking for Mrs Right! Not for some woman who will be a nuisance to him and give him headaches in the relationship and ultimately, marriage. If I wanted a patient man, I must prove myself to be patient too. If I wanted a kind man, a selfless husband, a hard working husband, a man of peace or even a spiritual husband; I must prove myself to be all that and more. I must reflect the spouse I want. So as you are waiting and searching for Mr Right/Mrs Right, or even if you are in a relationship now, please ensure that you also are Mr/Mrs Right! Most singles just want, want and want. You want a fantastic husband/wife, you want a man who will love you like you are the last woman on earth, you want a woman who will help you reach your highest potential, a woman who will never nag and be a thorn in your side. How about you work on becoming the kind of spouse you want so someone else can want you too? We all have areas that require extra work in us however, that is no excuse not to make yourself better. Dont be the type of man or woman that expects the other person to do all the work. Use every opportunity to work on yourself, enhance yourself.
