Dear students, Since the potential transfer of the UQ Ipswich campus was first mentioned by the University, your UQU has been working hard to ensure the best possible results for students that had been put in a tough situation. Its great to announce that after a long period of lobbying and consultation with the University by the Union, that UQ has pledged to allow all students to complete their degrees at Ipswich regardless of whether or not a sale of the campus occurs. This will minimise hassle and expense for Ipswich students who may have had to travel for extensive periods, or move to Brisbane to complete their studies. Whilst we understand students are still very validly concerned about the potential sale, and that there are many more issues still to be resolved, we believe this is a great result for students. Your Union will continue to keep fighting to ensure that the remaining issues are resolved in a manner that helps students and minimises inconvenience and uncertainty. Thanks, Your UQU Exec.
