Dear supporters...wed like you to meet two very special girls, Madeline and Wendy. We received an urgent call from SCAS begging us to rescue Madeline! They said she wasnt feeling well but she was so sweet they wanted us to help her. We picked her up today and took her straight to Animal Ark in Rural Hall. After the examination and X-rays it was discovered that Madeline has a severe pelvic fracture. Dr. McLeod could not believe she was even walking! And the most amazing thing is Madeline didnt whimper, growl or flinch during the transport, examination and bathing!She wagged her tail and laid or sat quietly. Madeline will need surgical plating to repair the break, relieve her pain and allow her to walk somewhat normally. The surgery will cost around $1000. We think she deserves this chance for a happy, healthy and pain free life! Our other special girl is Wendy. When our volunteer was at the shelter picking up Madeline, she noticed this poor little dog with dirty, matted fur. She saw underneath the filth a sweet girl worth saving so our team began working on getting her rescued, vetted and groomed. Wendy is 10-13 years old and was an owner surrender. Her owner said Wendy had health issues and they couldnt take care of her. After examination, Dr. McLeod said she has Kennel Cough and needs a dental cleaning with at least 4 teeth extracted. A geriatric blood panel was also taken. Wendy was then whisked off to the groomers and all we can say is a picture is worth a thousand words! Wendy is a beautiful, sweet and playful girl! We hope you agree with us that these two girls are very special and were worth rescuing. We need to raise the funds for Madelines surgery ($1,000) and Wendys dental, blood work and medication ($400).
