Dear water friends, The Singapore International Water Week/SIWW 2014 is currently going on, 1-5 June 2014 and is considered as the most important global platform to share and co-create innovative water solutions. The event gathers all types of stakeholders from the global water industry to share business opportunities and showcase the latest water technologies. SIWW is part of the strategic programme of the Singapore Government to grow the water industry and develop water technologies and is held every two years. It is merry-making to see how the Singapore Government is able to organise such a global high-quality, high-profile and high-powered event in Asia, where most water and environment challenges are being observed. The SIWW brings experts together to explore collaborations and innovative water solutions within a vibrant ecosystem of companies, research institutions and water leaders. The event is a “living laboratory” to learn how sustainable water management is essential to liveable cities, to shape the future of water and cities, to integrate water and urban sustainability. As the global platform for the sharing and co-creation of innovative water solutions, SIWW attracts decision makers across the entire water value chain, allowing the global water industry to collaborate on new market opportunities. In line with global water industry trends and opportunities, SIWW 2014 will feature discussions on four themes, namely: Municipal Water, Industrial Water, Integrated City-Environment-Water, and Future of Water, where forward-looking solutions are being discussed to meet future challenges and scenarios. The SIWW delivers a range of flagship programmes where industry players share the latest in business, scientific and technological innovation, and policy developments in water. The highlights of SIWW include the Water Convention, Water Leaders Summit, Water Expo, Business Forums as well as the presentation of the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize, a prestigious international award that acknowledges outstanding contributions towards solving the world’s water issues. The Water Leaders Summit, Water Convention, Water Expo, Business Forums and the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize present valuable opportunities for participants to network, exchange information and co-create innovative water solutions.
