Dearest friends, We were shocked, outraged and devastated to learn that our dear friend Farzan Athari was sentenced to life in prison for a crime that he did not do. It was shortly after the verdict that we decided that we would fight for Justice. We will not stay quiet and allow our friend to spend the rest of his life in Jail. Farzan has started his appeals process and had his defence hearing last Wednesday April 16. Farzan is blessed to have an amazing lawyer who decided to take the case after studying the files and recognizing the number of important details that have been ignored and mishandled during the process. He did an outstanding job during the defence hearing and argued some crucial points in Farzan’s favour. To name a few of the most important, his lawyer argued that there was no proof, no witnesses present, no money involved, the verdict was based on FALSE statements and assumptions and most importantly that Farzan’s sentence is extremely inappropriate for the crime that he is accused of. The sentencing date is next Wednesday the 30th of April. We ask for your prayers and thoughts during this difficult time. Much love and gratitude xxx
