Dearest friends of the Palestinian community, It is with deepest regret that I am writing to you regarding the Gaza crisis, as you may already know about. Given the political situation and ongoing war Operation Protective Edge over the last few weeks, over 2000 have been killed in Gaza with over 500 of the victims being innocent children. Our hearts go out to the families and victims affected, and we are doing everything we can from the West Bank to help our people. To date, there are over 6,000 homes that have been destroyed, and 10,2050 people injured consequently. Currently, the Local Committee for Rehabilitation in Askar enables Beit Al Sham Guesthouse to host patients from Gaza who have been stuck in Nablus for medical treatment at An Najah Hospital prior to the war starting. Victims in critical condition have also been given permits to be sent to our hospitals for treatment following the war, and we are in direct contact with them. Slowly and steadily, these families are given permits to return to Gaza, and we are hoping to send as much aid as we can with them. I understand that many of you are looking for ways to help Gaza directly through trustworthy sources, and that international communities are doing everything they can to be involved in our crisis. While many have donated money through various organizations, I ask that you help us in our fundraising for wheelchairs in particular for those who are injured. We are all with Gaza and have faith that this resilient population will get the support they need to rebuild the lives that have been destroyed.
