Debate of the Day: There are a lot of sick people in this world that cant get help for their problems. People like pedophiles, rapists, psychopaths, and other deviants. They cannot go to a therapist and openly admit that theyve committed a crime and ask for help, without that therapist being forced to call the police, and the person going to jail. Is society doing its duty by these people if it doesnt make allowances for people who have problems, but want to get help? Is it right that counselors dont have the same confidentiality that priests and religious workers do? And finally, is our society being served better by jailing the few people, without the capacity to understand that they will be reported, or would it be more benefited by giving the opportunity for the many people who feel compelled to do horrible things the chance to get help safely and confidentially?
