Dec. 12th - The Messiah was born and called Emmanuel. How did He get the name this name? Joseph was instructed by the Angel of the Lord to call the child, Jesus and when he conferred with Mary, she affirmed she had the same revelation. The word Jesus comes from the word Yeshua which means savior or deliverer. This is an accurate definition because Jesus came to save the world from their sins. In Matthew 1:23, it reads, they called him Emmanuel, not Joseph and Mary, but the people called the child Emmanuel. This connect the Messiah to Isaiah 7:14 where the name Emmanuel was the promise given when Israel was in trouble. The sign that they were given was virgin that would have a child named: Emmanuel. The people called him Emmanuel because they remembered when they are in trouble; God sends a sign to say that He is with them. Why call him Emmanuel when his parents have named Him Jesus? The answer is revealed in our study passage here in John chapter 14. Jesus has told His disciples that He is leaving to go and prepare a place for them in eternity. He is preparing eternity to receive us and to bring us back to our original status as an eternal creature. When He goes, He will not be gone. How is that possible? The comforter, the Holy Spirit will remain present among them. The fullness of His identity will still be known, He will still be Yeshua, the savior and deliverer but also He will be known as Emmanuel, God with us. The comforter will make His abode in us, to live in us forever. Once God is with us, He will never be absent. He will never leave us. He will remain us forever. God cannot leave us. He will always be with us, - forever. Share your thoughts and check out the new website click the link below...lifepoint4.me
