Dec. 18 Daily Announcements: The Youth Ministry Office will be closed during the Lunch Pds on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Semester Test Information: - Friday: Pd. 1 7:30-9:00; Pd. 2 9:05-10:35; Pd. 3 10:40-12:10 - Monday: Pd. 4 7:30-9:00; Pd. 5 9:05-10:35; Pd. 6 10:40-12:10 - Tuesday: Pd. 7 7:30-9:00; Pd. 8 9:05-10:35; - No Breakfast or Lunch is served. - Friday: If you do not have to be at Columbus for 1st pd, you need to report directly to the Commons when you arrive. Students are not allowed to go to their Lockers until 9am. If you want to work with a teacher during 1st pd, get a pass from that teacher on Thursday so that you can report there when you arrive. We want the hallways quiet while students are testing. - Friday: If you do not have to stay for a 3rd pd test, you need to be either in a teachers classroom or you need to leave. We want to eliminate hallway noise and distractions for students that are testing. - Please see Mr. Ulses in the office if you have any questions. Today!! Columbus’ Medley Club will be hosting the annual ugly sweater contest on Thursday, December 18th. The cost will be $2. The money will go to the funding of meals for The Catholic Worker House. Students must be wearing an ugly sweater to be considered eligible. It is a full out of uniform including the sweater. (Students cannot simply just wear a t-shirt and sweats.) The winner will get a swaggy prize! Make it ugly Sailors!!!!! Speech and Drama News: Kyle will be in his office in the music wing from 2 to 6 today Wed) and 4:30 to 7 tomorrow (Thursday). Anyone wanting to be part of Large Group Speech needs to stop by if at all possible. An email to columbusmusical@gmail will suffice if you absolutely can not make it. Rehearsals will begin over break. If you are not on the email list for the spring musical and are considering auditioning, please sign up in the high school office or email Kyle. Softball Meeting: - There is a Player and Parent meeting on Thursday night at 6pm in the Columbus Commons for anyone intending to play Softball this coming season. CAMPUS MINISTRY: GUIDANCE OFFICE Scholarships - Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - The Friends of Covenant Medical Center and the Friends of Sartori Memorial Hospital are offering scholarships to students planning a health care career. Qualified applicants must be a graduating senior, intending to pursue a career in a health-related program or be currently enrolled in a post high school health-related program. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of achievement and financial need. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Applications are available at Covenant Medical Center Foundation office or Sartori Memorial Hospital Foundation office. A printable application can also be obtained at WheatonIowa.org, click on the Foundations navigation then of Friends Scholarship. Application deadline is March 13, 2015. Saturday they lost 1-2, but on Sunday they came back and won 7-3. The team is on the road again Wednesday in Ames. - Mark your calendar Warriors Fans: January 10 the Warriors are doing a blackout. They want to fill Young Arena with as many screaming fans as possible! Students still get in at no cost with their activity pass. No pass? There will also be free tickets in the office too! So come on down to Young, wear your black and cheer for your hometown Warrior hockey team! (FYI the Warriors will be selling black tee-shirts for the game.) GO WARRIORS!
