Dec 19, 1447 – Sir John BROOKE who would become the 7th Lord Cobham was born in Cowling, Kent, England. He was the Great-Grandson of Sir John III TUCHET, 4th Baron Audley, 1st Baron Tuchet who I just posted about. John Brooke, 7th Lord Cobham (of Kent) was born 19 December 1447 in Cowling, Kent, England. His second wife was Margaret Neville, daughter of Sir Edward Neville, 1st Lord Abergavenny and Katherine Howard. He died on 9 March 1512. He was in an expedition to Flanders with King Henry VII. He fought in the Cornish insurrection at the Battle of Deptford Bridge or Blackheath on 17 June 1497, with Lord Abergavenny. He died in 1512 at Cobham, Kent. Interestingly the noble leader of the Cornish rebellion was Sir James Tuchet, 7th Baron Audley, his first cousin. They were both grandsons of Sir James Tuchet, 5th Baron Audley. The 7th Baron Audley was captured, transported to London and given the king’s mercy (King Henry VII) by a quick beheading on Tower Hill.
