Dec. 26, 2009 is a day I will never forget - Its the day my Dad passed from this mortal life. David was his name - Ive been thinking about him a lot - well I always do - mostly what would Dad advise me - he was my rock - trusted advisor - confidant - my dad! It pains me because it iced really bad here in Ft Worth that Christmas Eve - dad said to me to get on home and not worry about our normal Christmas Eve tradition of tamales & chili. I never saw him alive again - I dont say much about it from year to year - maybe a passing note that usually goes unnoticed saying I love and miss you dad Anyway - this year being the 5th anniversary of my dads passing - I thought I might share the eulogy I read - you may perhaps know it! I chose it because the song always reminds me of moving from San Antonio to Albuquerque after he and mom married - see - dad was technically my step father - but - he was really truly my dad! He inculcated upon me all that I am now and I hope I am half the man, husband and father he was! Dad - I love you and miss you!
