Dec. 30 In the midst of sufferings, trials, persecutions - TopicsExpress

Dec. 30 In the midst of sufferings, trials, persecutions through Gods infinite, unfathomable wisdom which can never fail, the Christian is reminded and comforted by St. Pauls letter to Colossians: At present I rejoice (seems lunatic) when I suffer for you: I complete in my own flesh what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ for the sake of his body, which is the Church.Col. 1:24 When the Christian, with Gods grace, strives to be authentic, in the eyes of the world living in mediocrity, selfishness and worldliness, he is seen as a fool. We are fools for Christ, while you show forth the wisdom of Christ. We are weak, you are strong. You are honored, while we are despised....We have become like the scum of the earth, like the garbage of humankind until now. Ist Cor. 4:10, 13 Sometimes, during trials and persecutions God allowed to happen to us mysteriously, we sometimes, or mostly, complain to God like what the Prophet Jeremiah did (Jer. 20:7-9). But Gods plan, as it is written, will always be fulfilled, This God- his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is always fulfilled.Psalm 18:31. We are reminded too, of God allowing injustice to be committed against us like what happened to Joseph, son of Jacob, in order to save the whole family of Jacob from starvation due to famine then, see Genesis 37. And so, after the trials willed by God for us shall have ended in victory, we proclaim: Blessed be the God of faithfulness and mercy, in spite of our unfaithfulness. Alleluia amen.
