December 10th, at 10:24 AM, I got a heads-up from a homeboy at Sears that I had hurt the Store Managers feelings yet again, and he was going to make a big deal about it yet again... (Youd think he would have learned by now that tactic doesnt work with persons smarter than he...) I decided that I wasnt going to sit through any more Human Resources attempts at intimidation and empty threats, so it took me all of two minutes to decide it was time to leave, BEFORE the Christmas returns happened, which would result in me having to REPAY commissions already paid out. (I know, right?) So I took a sip of my coffee, and sixteen minutes later at 10:40 AM, sent ONE text message to another homeboy inquiring if they were looking for any help at his place of employment. The following morning, I didnt bother to dress for work, just threw on jeans, a hoodie, and a leather jacket, and drove through the aftermath of the Noreaster to Sears, punched in, found my department manager, and quit on the spot. (I didnt give him a chance to respond, I just walked away, it was pretty funny, and for all I know, hes still standing there with his mouth open.) A few moments ago, I confirmed my new job start as this Friday, December 19th. Total time unemployed, eight days. Some days youre the bird. Some days youre the WINDSHIELD. *victory dance*
