December 11, 1964: Beloved American singer and songwriter Sam Cooke was murdered at age 33 in Los Angeles, California. He made one of the most famous recordings of The Coffee Song, a novelty song written by Bob Hilliard and Dick Miles and first recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1946. The song jokes about a coffee surplus in Brazil so extreme that all people drank was coffee: A politicians daughter was fined for drinking water. Oh and the Muppets also have a famous recording of the song: https://youtube/watch?v=gu_LMJCifig The Coffee Song might be Cookes only song about Brazil. But heres another great recording he did, Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive: https://youtube/watch?v=lnErt_ff8-w https://youtube/watch?v=APedvKU4rkA
