Oliver, Mary. “Rules for the Dance.: A Handbook For Writing and Reading Metrical Verse.” (Houghton Mifflin Co.) Schneider, Pat. “Writing Alone and With Others.” (Oxford University Press). Peter Elbow says Pat Schneider is “the wisest teacher of writing I know.” I think Pat is that and then some. She is sheer genius in presenting exercises and thoughts about writing both poetry and prose.
