December 2, 2014 Public Health Advisory - Hepatitis A in Hamilton Township Food Handler The NJDOH was notified on December 1st about a case of Hepatitis A in a food handler. The involved establishment is Rosas Restaurant and Catering in Hamilton Township, Mercer County. While the risk of an individual contracting hepatitis A is not very high, out of an abundance of caution NJDOH is recommending that patrons be notified of a possible exposure and that post-exposure vaccination (either hepatitis A vaccine or immune globulin) be offered to those at risk. Therefore, patrons who ate at the restaurant between 11/10/2014 and 12/1/2014 are advised to contact their primary care physician, inform them of their possible exposure, and discuss post-exposure vaccination options. Note that post-exposure vaccination is likely to be most effective if given within two weeks of exposure. Please note that in addition to in-restaurant dining, this restaurant also provides catering to various locations and facilities. Robbinsville residents in need of additional information or assistance may contact the West Windsor Township Health Department at 609-936-8400.
