December 2014 Dear FARM Facebook Friends, Rescue is hard work. It is sometimes joyous, often heart wrenching, and always expensive. If you are one of our facebook friends, you know many of our rescue stories. All of our rescued pets are special. Most pets come to us without major medical issues. Pets get vaccinated, spayed or neutered, groomed if needed, and are adopted into great homes. They are the easy ones. The hard ones are the ones we know will cost a lot of money. We die a little each time we save a pet and find out the medical issues will cost in the hundreds, or sometimes in the thousands. But, isn’t that what a rescue is supposed to do – save the ones that would otherwise die? We think so and hope you do too. With your help, we not only take the healthy, young ones, but the old, fragile, broken and sick ones. Somehow we always manage to find the money – mostly because of you. We have now rescued over 10,000 dogs and cats. Our vet bills are running about $120,000 each year. With your help, we will continue to try to save as many lives as possible.
